Ducklings arrive to play with rabbits!

A Duckling had to come to play! Having fun making woodland friends and celebrate Spring.  Many years ago I was making wooden ducks and rabbits out of pine, and it is fun to do them again for my etsy shop.  Spread the joy!

In a celebratious mood!

Indeed, it only takes a few days that get warmer in the afternoon and the willows forming puffy buds,  and a daffodil leaf pushing up through the damp earth,  for the spirit of Spring to start coursing through us. So bunnies had to come and visit the shop and spread their cheer all around! These are made from the aspens I usually use,  hand collected in the mountains. The designs of the rabbits I got from my picture collections and interpreted onto the wood. So wonderful to make happy things.

Big Gnome Tree House

This is one of the larger projects I have done for Gnomes and wee folk.  The idea is for group play and things that would inspire boys as well as girls.  It is made from aspen as most my houses are.  I tried to think of making objects that would inspire ideas and be versatile for playing in many ways, like the mine tree stumps and climbing blocks.  The split rails make good fences but also can be laid out to make a road or path or a garden plot.  I was inspired to add the flag --as this whole project was making think so much  of  Tree Forts, such we played at with kids. We always made a flag!  The flag post comes apart from the stump to store inside.
I hope this inspires many little ones for hours of fun play.

Gnome Tree Tower

At the end of 2011 I began to have the idea of making tree houses that were vertical. Thinking of living in the giant hollow tree stump as many of us imagined as children.  I felt that with openings at the tops and sides, it allowed multiple children to play, as well as interesting boys more perhaps, being more like a tree "fort".  I made places to stand and places to get into and included climbing stumps for play and interest.  I plan to make these in different sizes. The array of gnomes are from my own as well as the PaintingPixie on etsy, most wonderful gnomes of all!.
